Brantrock

A century is a long time. A weekend is rather short. In fact a weekend out of a hundred years is a mere 3 days out of 36,500. Yet somehow making that time last is never a problem in Brantrock. Brantrock is a small shoreside town in Marshfield, MA which is about 45 minutes south of Boston. The house we stayed at belongs to Sue’s (my host-mom) family and this year is the 100 year anniversary of house. The house is broken into 3 sections all capable of becoming individual units with their own kitchen, 3 bedrooms and full size bath. There is no air conditioning, but who needs it when you can just go out front and jump in the cool ocean. The temp while we were their wavered from mid 50’s to mid 60’s but that didn’t stop several of us from snorkeling or diving in search of dinner. Lobster of course was the main dish and it was thoroughly enjoyed. Other than the swimming I spent much of the time playing croquet, bocce ball, and serenading everyone with the ukulele. I was also fortunate to spend some of the weekend with my Mom and sister while they visited me in Boston. It was an amazing weekend and a great time at one of New England’s beautiful beaches.
